About Us
Founded in 2004, Select-O-Sep, LLC teaching staff have more than 80 combined years of teaching and/or laboratory research experience. One of the major product development goals of its educational division is to commercialize various scientific teaching and training aids. Over the last several years, Select-O-Sep, LLC has been involved in the development of unique interactive teaching aids including the use of Web-based training, at both the undergraduate and the graduate levels. During this time, the personnel of Select-O-Sep, LLC have developed and tested various Web-based and Excel-based interactive teaching tools for delivering unique learning experiences. Among its current products are in-house and on-line training courses for industrial chemists as well as the undergraduate and graduate college/university levels. More recently, a significant portion of its R & D efforts have been directed towards producing science inquiry-based products that can be used at the high school (9-12)level to teach chemistry in a fashion that will fit current learning habits (i.e., computer based) of students and still maintain pedagogically sound teaching practices. This particular product is our Electronic Laboratory Workbook (ECLW) which is available via installable or non installable Software/CD, Web-based or via a MiniServer where it has been preinstalled and is customized for individual classrooms. The ECLW comes with or without tactile interfaces that can function as a 'hands on' laboratory only without the chemicals or glassware as we use plastic (i.e., burettes, beakers,) and the tactile interfaces control the on-screen activities. It is a 'green' and safe laboratory setting.The software can also be controlled by the computer mouse, mousepad or arrows. We are currently working on a micro server that can be plugged into any computer's USB port.
